This book argues that the Islamic movements are comprehenive, holistic, universally relevant and pervasive. The basic argument of the Islamic movement is the performance of the vicegerency which includes not only the socio-political and economic dimension but also intellectual and scientific aspects.

It is contended that the Islamic movements poses an real alternative to the present and future because they possess enough potential to generate inellectual revolution and bring socio-political change.

The book deals with few movements including Wahabism, Banna's and Mawdudi's.

Nevertheless, the book also indetifies shortcomings of the Islamic movements and suggests constructive measuresto overcome them.
